In this session, we will learn ways mindfulness can be practiced to cope effectively with the stress that accompanies life transitions.  We will have the opportunity to practice mindfulness meditation and how it might be useful in daily life.  We will explore ways mindfulness can be integrated in every day life for full and conscious participation in adapting to the inevitability of change.
 
Eligible for 1 CLE Credit

Bio:
Ben Gaibel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Cancer Centers of Colorado - Good Samaritan Medical Center where he provides counseling, education, support groups, and stress reduction programs for patients and caregivers.  Ben teaches Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to help people affected by cancer access their own inner resources to cope effectively with stress, pain, and illness.  He also facilitates mindfulness workshops for associates and leaders within the SCL Health System, as well as for the greater community.  He is a Qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Teacher through the internationally renowned and evidence-based Stress Reduction Program at the Center for Mindfulness - UMASS Medical School.   Ben has been practicing meditation since 1997, and has been teaching mindfulness to wide range of populations since 2001.
