Take advantage of this great opportunity to obtain valuable information about all facets of handling protection orders in Denver District and County Courts. Our speakers will include three judicial officers who regularly handle protection orders as part of their dockets: Denver District Court Judge Hon. Marie A. Moses, Denver County Court Judge Hon. Nicole M. Rodarte, and Denver District Court Magistrate Hon. Karen F. Hubler. Among other things, the three panelists will discuss the state of the law (including recent statutory changes and how that has affected the process in their courtrooms) and the practice of issuing protection orders in their courtrooms, including who gets them, on what bases, frequent issues and obstacles, and the differences between county court and district court cases. This presentation, like all of the Courtroom Chats, will occur in a casual “roundtable” format in which attendees are encouraged to ask questions and participate in a dialogue with the presenters.
