How to Get Involved
The Family Violence Program encourages you, and all attorneys, to get involved in the issues of family violence.
Here are several opportunities to do so:
· Join a committee of the Family Violence Program.
· Learn about family violence so you have an increased understanding when relating to your clients, your colleagues, your family, and the community.
· Take a pro bono family violence case from legal services.
· Volunteer your legal expertise to a family violence service provider (These are often non-profits that would appreciate help with corporate issues, employment issues, criminal justice issues, or other areas of law. In Denver metropolitan area call Metro Volunteers, 303.830.8210.)
· Facilitate your law firm to adopt a family through local safehouses during the holidays and at other times.
· Encourage your law firm to donate to a family violence service provider.
