***Attorneys' Night Out – THANK YOU ***

The DBA-YLD and The Legal Center for People with Disabilities and Older People graciously thank all who supported Attorneys’ Night Out. Attorneys' Night Out raises awareness and support for The Legal Center, a non-profit organization established in 1976
to protect the human, civil, and legal rights of people with disabilities and older people. Your generous support will help The Legal Center, Colorado’s Protection and Advocacy System, achieve these lofty goals in the year to come. More than 160 attorneys and sponsors attended Attorneys' Night Out this year. Thanks to your generous support, the DBA-YLD helped The Legal Center raise more than $23,000! Special thanks to our Title Sponsors – Bank of the West, Blake Street Tavern, Flying Dog Brewery and Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons LLP, and our Major, Supporting, and Contributing Sponsors, as well as Elizabeth and Chris Fuselier, Andrea Faley, David Ball, our Steering Committee, and countless volunteers. Attorneys' Night Out quickly is becoming one of the best Young Lawyer events in the city. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!

*** Legal Night ***
Legal Night is a program that provides free legal and referral information to residents in the community regarding issues of immigration, employment, housing, consumer, family law, and various other legal issues. It is held at Mi Casa Resource Center for Women (360 Acoma Street) on the third Tuesday of every month from 5:30 to 8 p.m., and at Centro San Juan Diego (2830 Lawrence Street) on the first Wednesday of every month from 5:30 to 8 p.m. No experience is necessary and dinner is provided. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LEGAL NIGHT AT CENTRO SAN JUAN DIEGO HAS A STRONG NEED FOR IMMIGATION ATTORNEYS. For information about volunteering at either Legal Night as an attorney or Spanish-English translator, e-mail Alison Butler Daniels at daniels@kinggreisen.com.

The DBA-YLD anticipates openings on the 2007-2008 YLD Executive Council and is now accepting applications. The Council is responsible for organizing and running all of the DBA-YLD’s wonderful programs each year. Candidates must be members of the DBA and qualify as a young lawyer (3 years or less in practice or under 37 years-old, whichever keeps you with us longer). The existing Executive Council is looking for individuals who have a drive to serve the community and have exhibited involvement in DBA-YLD or similar programs. Serving on the Executive Council is fun, rewarding, and educational, but candidates must be willing and able to make the time commitment to meet once per month and to run and/or assist with various DBA-YLD projects. It generally requires a two-year commitment. If you are interested, please provide a letter explaining your desire to join the Executive Committee, as well as a resume to Casie Collignon, Chair-Elect, DBA-YLD, at ccollignon@bakerlaw.com or Melissa Nicoletti at melissan@cobar.org. Applications must be received no later than June 1, 2007.http://www.cobar.org/cle/datadetail.cfm?ProductID=LIPCHB06
