9th Annual Attorneys’ Night Out—Thursday, May 15
Join the DBA YLD as it celebrates The Legal Center’s mission of protecting the rights of people with disabilities and older people in Colorado. The event includes a silent auction, live auction and a drawing for an iPad. The event will be held at the Blake Street Tavern from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $25 prior to the event and $35 at the door. Go to thelegalcenter.org to purchase tickets. May Coffee Talk: Client Advocacy—Thursday, May 22

June Coffee Talk: Colorado Special Education Law—Thursday, June 26
The presentation will provide information on The Rules for Administration of The Protection of Persons from Restraint Act created by the Colorado Department of Education. We will discuss state seclusion and restraint laws and policies for schools and where Colorado stands nationally. We will also discuss some case examples and the results of The Legal Center’s project and data collection around restraint and seclusion in Colorado public schools. Denver Legal Night is an open house where volunteer attorneys provide free legal and referral information to people who cannot afford legal services. Areas of law addressed commonly include Immigration, Family, Criminal, Housing, Consumer and bankruptcy, and Employment.

Annual Henry Hall Memorial Golf Tournament—Monday, June 2
The annual Henry Hall Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, June 2, at Inverness Golf Club in Englewood. A buffet lunch will begin at 12:30 p.m. with a 1:30 p.m., shotgun to follow. There will be two formats as in years past: the Champions division or best ball, and the Challenge division or scramble. Annual Awards Ceremony and Reception—Thursday, June 26
The 2014 honores are: Judge Richard L. Gabriel, Award of Merit; Ilene Lin Bloom, Volunteer Lawyer of the Year; Margrit Parker, Young Lawyer of the Year; and Judge Dennis A. Graham, Judicial Excellence. Everyone is invited to celebrate with the honorees at the DBA Annual Awards Ceremony and Reception on Thursday, June 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Ralph L.
