Volunteers Needed for Native American Reservation Allotment Land—Thursday, May 9 Informational Meeting
Denver Bar Association President Jim Benjamin recently met with the state commissioner of Indian Affairs regarding the difficulties Native American “allottees” have faced proving marketability of title to their allottee tracts of land within the Fort Berthold (Mandan) Indian Reservation. The commissioner requested DBA assistance in creating a more efficient and pragmatically useable land title recordation system. Already, a half dozen DBA members already have volunteered for this pro bono program, but many more will be needed. If you would like to learn more about this exciting pro bono project, an informational meeting has been scheduled at 2 p.m. for this Thursday, May 9 at the DBA. No RSVP is necessary.

Social Networking: An Ethical Minefield—Thursday, May 23
As licensed professionals, it is critical to be mindful of responsibilities in interactions with others, including those that occur electronically or via social media. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn. There may be dangers for lawyers who may be unaware of the interaction between the use of social media, and their responsibilities under the Rules of Professional Conduct. Henry Hall Memorial Golf Tournament—Monday, June 10
Join us at noon on Monday, June 10, at Valley Country Club in Centennial for the annual Henry Hall Memorial Golf Tournament. DBA members pay $135 for lunch, greens fees, range balls, cart, and snacks. There will be a silent auction after the tournament with all proceeds benefitting Metro Volunteer Lawyers. 8th Annual Attorney’s Night Out—Thursday, June 27
Join the DBA Young Lawyers Division as they celebrate The Legal Center for People with Disabilities and Older People’s protection of the rights of people with disabilities and older people in Colorado since 1976.
