Denver Bike Social—Thursday, Oct. 3
Join us for the DBA bike social on Thursday, Oct. 3, starting at 5:30 p.m. If inclement weather prevails we will reschedule for the following Thursday. Please contact Heather Clark for an update at or 303-824-5350. Cyclists will meet up at B-Station located at 1601 Platte St. in Denver. B-Cycle is a sponsor of this event and has generously offered free bike passes to anyone without a bike that day. After approximately an hour of biking, the group will gather at the Denver Beer Company, 1695 Platte St. Denver, for drinks. RSVP to or 303-860-1115, ext. 727. SEC Issues Report on Social Media Disclosures

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently issued a report of its investigation relating to a Facebook post by Reed Hastings, the CEO of Netflix, which stated Netflix’s monthly online viewing had exceeded 1 billion hours. The SEC’s investigation was to determine whether Hastings or the Company violated Regulation FD under the Securities Exchange Act through the posting of this information. Read more…

DBA YLD Upcoming Events and Programs

DBA YLD Hosts Law Suit Days—Oct. 3 and 4
From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 3 and 4, the DBA YLD will accept donations of gently used professional clothing, shoes, and accessories on the steps of the Denver City and County Building. Clothing should be clean and on hangers. The DBA YLD will not be able to pick up donations and cannot accept donations on other dates. If the weather is bad, the donation site will be moved inside the city and county building. For more information please contact Heather Clark at

Barristers After Hours at the Wynkoop Brewery—Thursday, Oct. 17
The DBA YLD invites you to attend a Barristers After Hours, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Wynkoop Brewery. Free drinks and appetizers will be provided. No need to RSVP. Contact Joel Jacobson for more information.

Spinning CLE at the Denver Athletic Club with Judge Russell Carparelli—Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7:15 a.m.
Join us for the second round of the popular Spinning CLE class at the Denver Athletic Club. Judge Carparelli will discuss themes of diversity and inclusiveness in this ethics program that’s part of October Legal Professionalism Month as you sweat away on your stationary bike. This is a members-only event, and the cost to attend is $15. One ethics credit has been applied for. DBA YLD Members—Get Involved with Legal Nights
Denver Legal Night is an open house where volunteer attorneys provide free legal and referral information to people who cannot afford legal services. Areas of law addressed commonly include Immigration, Family, Criminal, Housing, Consumer and bankruptcy, and Employment.

Flood Legal Relief—Volunteers Needed
The Joint Disaster Legal Services Task Force comprises the Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Legal Services, Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, and several local bar associations. Earlier this week, the Task Force, in conjunction with FEMA and the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, launched a website and helpline for victims of the floods.
