Supply and Demand: Underrepresented Participants in the Legal System
By Mo Weiland
When I took on my first volunteer case I was told it was going to be an “easy one –a simple divorce.” The first thing I realized is that there is no such thing as an “easy one” – every case is complicated, emotionally charged, and challenging for those involved. It was, after all, supposed to be an “easy one.” Read more…

CAN Committee Day of Service—Tuesday, June 18
The Denver Bar Association Community Action Network Committee will participate in a day of service on Tuesday, June 18, at Project Angel Heart and Metro CareRing in honor of late CAN committee member Sarah Rector, who passed away in March of this year following a brief illness. Rector was passionate about volunteering in the community and also was a member of the Denver Mile High Rotary Club. CAN encourages the DBA membership to find a way to fit community service into your month, whether through organized volunteering or otherwise, as a reminder that we can reach beyond the legal community to the Denver community at large and provide valuable assistance to those in need.
