Call for DBA Awards Nominees: Nominate a Young Lawyer of the Year!

The DBA Awards Committee needs your nomination for its annual awards: DBA Award of Merit, DBA Young Lawyer of the Year, DBA Volunteer of the Year, Judicial Excellence, and Teacher of the Year. You can submit a brief nominating statement online or email Heather Clark. The committee will consider involvement with the DBA, community contributions outside the bar associations, and career history and accomplishments. The deadline for nominations is Thursday, Jan. 31.

We the People Volunteers Needed

Colorado We the People program needs your help! How does it work? Student panels research a difficult open-ended question on a constitutional principle and then “testify” in a simulated congressional hearing format before panels of three community members who act as judges. Volunteers receive training before the hearing on the criteria used in judging student performances. Students begin with a four-minute opening statement, followed by six minutes of follow-up questions from judges. Judges will hear responses to the same difficult question from four to five different schools. Email Meghan Bush for more information.

Henry Hall Golf Committee In Need of Help

The Committee is looking for volunteers to co-chair two different subcommittees in charge of sponsorships and silent auction for the 2013 tournament. The date and location of the tournament is still to be determined at this time. All funds raised go to Metro Volunteer Lawyers. Please email Heather Clark.
