University of Denver Ethics Professor Eli Wald tells you everything you need to know about effective client communications. One Ethics Credit.
Nov. 11 — “Trial Practice for Litigators; What You Forgot About Trials Practice While Writing Briefs”
This program combines TAB and the upcoming Mock Trial Program. While advocating with their pens, litigators forget about the joys of advocating with their heart and soul. The course is FREE for mock trial coaches. If you are interested in coaching a team please contact Carolyn Gravit at cgravit@cobar.org. One General Credit. Monday, Nov. 17 — Coffee Talk: In a War Zone, It's Never Just Another Day in the Office.
Former Army Judge Advocate General Captain Vivian Gembara discusses her book "Drowning in the Desert, A JAG's Search For Justice in Iraq." She will explain what Army lawyers do in a war zone and her experience in getting her story published. One General Credit.
*** Last chance in 2008 to help bring civics into the schools
Volunteers are needed to judge middle and high school student presentations on the Constitution and civics. Little preparation is required. This is a great opportunity to inspire future citizens. *** Help Out Homeless Vets
The DBA seeks volunteers for the Homeless Veteran's Stand Down on Thursday, Nov. 6. The event offers services and information to homeless veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. Volunteer for any two-hour shift between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to provide legal information and referrals to organizations that provide free legal services in the areas of rental eviction, landlord/tenant, child support, SSI/Disability and warrants.
