Did you know that Oct. 31 was the 114th anniversary of the Denver Bar Association? Founded in 1891 at the Odd Fellows Hall (go figure!), the DBA continues to run strong, thanks to committed members like you.

Denver’s media is looking to interview a local connection to U.S. Supreme Court nominee Hon. Sam Alito. If you knew him through school or work, contact Stacy Chesney, schesney@cobar.org or (303) 824-5347, to be put in touch with reporters who would like to talk to you.

*** November “Tuesdays at the Bar”
Don’t miss these great topics! Nov. 8: Disaster Planning and Recovery; Nov. 15: Ethics Update; Nov. 29: Ethics for National Guard and Reservist Lawyers (non-military, as well). *** Alternative Careers Workshop
The University of Denver Sturm College of Law Career Services Office is holding an Alternative Careers Workshop this Saturday, Nov. 5, 9–11 a.m., at 2255 E. Evans Ave., Room 155. Guest speaker Richard Delli Veneri will discuss options for lawyers interested in careers outside practicing law. No RSVP necessary and no cost to attend. The Central Visitation Program provides a safe, supervised setting for court-ordered visits between children and parents of low-income families involved in high-conflict, divorce and/or restraining order proceedings.
