***Vote Yes on 1A — May 3
The DBA trustees voted unanimously to support the city ballot initiative for the new Denver Justice Center. It has been 70 years since Denver has built a new courthouse; this initiative would provide 35 new courtrooms. The trustees encourage the members of the Bar to help get out the yes-vote on this important community and legal issue. More information is available at http://www.safedenver.org.
***Coming Up: Your Time to Party at the Ball!
This Saturday, April 30 is the super-fun Barristers Benefit Ball. For details, go to www.denbar.org. There will be dancing, dining, a silent auction, and some great raffle prizes! Proceeds from the event will go to Metro Volunteer Lawyers.
***Law Day’s Almost Here...Have You Reserved Your Seat?
This year’s Law Day program, presented by the DBA YLD, is "The American Jury: We the People in Action," May 4, noon, at the Warwick Hotel, 17th & Grant St. Speaker is Chief Judge of the Denver District Court, H. Jeffrey Bayless. Cost is $25 and includes lunch. One CLE. RSVP with an e-mail to lunches@cobar.org and indicate who will be attending.
