Proving that legal professionals are not only smart, but also creative, the DBA team name for the “Run the Register” fundraiser on Feb. 25 is “Lung Time No Sue.” DBA member Greg Cairns submitted this fun (and tongue-in-cheek) name and will receive a Visa gift card for his great contribution. The DBA Awards Committee seeks nominations for four awards: Award of Merit; Volunteer Lawyer of the Year; Young Lawyer of the Year; and Judicial Excellence. Please submit a statement (e-mail preferred) with the name, award, and summary of why that person deserves the honor. The DBA YLD Winter Festival is Jan. 27, 10:30 a.m.–1 p.m., at the Denver Department of Human Services, 1200 Federal Blvd. This event provides gifts to Denver-area foster children, giving them an opportunity to celebrate the holidays. If you are interested in donating, collect new sporting equipment, books, stuffed animals and toys at your firm or office for delivery to the DBA offices, 1900 Grant St., 9th floor. *** Discount Tickets to the Ball!
Buy early and often! Tickets to the 2007 Barristers Benefit Ball are discounted until Feb. 1: $3,000 for patron tables, $250 for patron tickets, $100 for judicial tickets, $145 for individual lawyer tickets, and $90 for young lawyer and non-lawyer tickets.
