All programs are at the DBA, third floor, at noon. Cost includes lunch and typically one CLE credit. (Coffee Talk is a morning program on the 9th floor, and includes a continental breakfast for $5.)

*** Nov. 7: Client Collections

This program will discuss various factors affecting client collections. One ethics credit has been requested.

*** Nov. 14: Ethical and Fiduciary Issues in Lawyer Mobility
Learn about the ethical and fiduciary issues with respect to taking and leaving clients when departing from a firm.
One ethics credit has been requested.

*** Nov. 21: Stress and Time Management: Self-Defense Skills
We can’t control external stressors or time invasion, but we can control our reaction to and preparation for external factors. Learn about prioritization, communication, assertiveness, conflict management, cognitive restructuring, humor, and centering and relaxation. Presented by Mines & Associates. No CLE credit will be requested.

*** Nov. 28: Dead Files: What You Have to do and How to do it
The program you have been waiting for: “Let’s get these boxes out of the office.” Nancy Cohen from the Office of Attorney Regulation will present on the topic. It is sure to be a great program for you and your support staff.
One ethics credit has been requested.

*** Wednesday, Nov. 22: DBA YLD Coffee Talk — Ethical Ways of Dealing with Pro Se Litigants as an Attorney
Topics include: What you could and should do with regard to discovery, disputes and settlement negotiations. The unique circumstances at trial, in particular the challenges when you cross-examine the unrepresented party. The difficulty of representing your client’s interest without appearing to take advantage of the other party’s lack of knowledge and experience.
Join colleagues from 8 to 9 a.m. at 1900 Grant St., on the 9th floor. The cost is only $5 for DBA members and $15 for non-members. Continental breakfast is included. RSVP by sending a check to DBA Coffee Talk. One ethics CLE credit has been requested.
