*** Litigation Bootcamp Series: Termination Without Trial
This is the eighth half-day session (out of 10) of CBA–CLE’s 2006 Litigation Bootcamp series, designed for lawyers with limited litigation experience. “Termination Without Trial” topics include: Voluntary and Involuntary Dismissal, Motion to Dismiss, Default Judgment, Failure to Prosecute, Summary Judgment, and Settlement — Drafting Settlement Agreements and Releases. A screening of the documentary, “Breaking News,” is this Thursday, June 22, 7 p.m., at the Tivoli Theater. According to its website: “‘Breaking News’ dramatically confronts one of the most pressing issues facing modern media — the constant pressure on television news organizations for ratings and money.” The film highlights the Kobe Bryant and Michael Jackson cases. A celebrity bartending reception is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Denver Press Club.

*** Improve Your Public Speaking Skills to Generate New Business
Public speaking at events is a great way for lawyers to establish themselves as experts within their fields. Join the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Legal Marketing Association as Brigid O’Connor presents the tenets of successful public speaking. The program is Tuesday, July 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Sage Room of The Oxford Hotel, 1600 17th St.
