*** Your Chance to Learn About C.R.C.P. 122: Appointed Judges
This new rule allows parties to appoint a former judge to handle all or part of a lawsuit, while maintaining the right to a jury trial and full appellate remedies. Speaker Dick Holme, of Davis Graham and Stubbs, will speak on this topic at the monthly DBA Coffee Talk CLE Program, March 22, 8–9 a.m., at the DBA offices, 1900 Grant St, Suite 900. The cost is only $5 for members ($15 for non-members), offers one general CLE credit, and includes continental breakfast. To RSVP, contact Mary at or at (303) 824-5313.

*** Roll Out the Barrels Food Drive — The DBA: Doing Great Things for the Denver Community
The DBA Community Action Network is proud to sponsor the seventh annual "Roll Out the Barrels" food drive to benefit the Food Bank of the Rockies. The drive will run from April 24 to May 5, and the DBA CAN Committee will drop off a barrel at your firm or office. Just fill it with non-perishable food items and the committee will collect it. To participate, contact Aaron Bradford at (303) 874-3434.

*** Race Relations in the Front Range
On Thursday, March 23, 5:30–8:30 p.m., The Conflict Center and the Colorado Women’s Bar Association will host “Race Relations in The Front Range — Disparities in the Criminal Justice System” at the Ridgeline Room in the Pepsi Center. Opalanga, a nationally-renowned entertainer, will open with a presentation, followed by a dynamic panel on race relations and disparities in the criminal justice system. The event will be moderated by Denver Post columnist Diane Carman.
