TUESDAYS AT THE BAR Get lunch, CLE, and a great program!
Make reservations for these programs by sending a check for $15, payable to the Denver Bar Association, to: Tuesdays at the Bar, DBA, 1900 Grant St., Ste. 900, Denver, 80203. A form to use is below. You may also RSVP by calling (303) 860-1115, ext. 727, or e-mailing lunches@cobar.org. Indicate the program you will be attending. All programs are at the DBA, third floor, at noon. Cost includes lunch and typically one CLE credit. (Coffee Talk is a morning program on the 9th floor, and includes a continental breakfast for $5.)

*** March 7: Casemaker Reba Nance, the Colorado Bar Association’s director of law practice management, will do a demonstration of, and answer questions about the CBA’s Online Legal Research Library. Casemaker is your source for Colorado case law, statutes, rules, The Colorado Lawyer, and more. Come with questions. One general credit requested.
*** March 14: Lunch with a Judge, Denver County Court Update Chief Judge Andrew Armatas will give you the insider’s scoop during this update on what’s new in county court. Gain insight about the procedures and protocol to follow when practicing in front of these judges. One general credit requested.
*** March 21: Contract vs. Employee? Exempt vs. Non-Exempt? Employment Issues for Law Firms Can you ever call a secretary a “contract” employee? Must you pay your paralegals overtime? These matters can get law firms in trouble. Join Milo Gonser, employment attorney extraordinaire, as he clarifies these thorny issues. If you ever employ staff (contract or otherwise), you must come to this session! One general credit has been requested.
*** March 28: The Ins & Outs of Excel Back by popular demand, Dave Hoy, certified expert in Microsoft and owner of pc.ROI, LLC, will share his expertise in navigating Excel. His words of wisdom will save you time, money, and possibly sanity. One general credit requested.
*** Wednesday, March 22: DBA YLD Coffee Talk — Appointed Judges Under New C.R.C.P. 122 Haven't had a chance to learn about C.R.C.P. 122? This new rule allows parties to appoint a former judge to handle all or part of a lawsuit, while maintaining the right to a jury trial and full appellate remedies. Find out more and ask questions in this short, interactive CLE program. Join colleagues from 8 to 9 a.m. at 1900 Grant St., Ste. 900. The cost is only $5 for DBA members and $15 for non-members.
