*** CBA Membership Cards: No, You’re Not Seeing Double
The 2007–08 Membership Cards are hot-off-the-press and will be arriving in the mail within a week. Some duplicate membership cards may have been mailed. This does not mean that your dues have been paid twice or that we have more then one membership record for you. If you receive a duplicate, please disregard it. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We sincerely thank you for your continued support.

*** E-Discovery and Evidence Best Practices
The ability to request and/or produce electronic evidence can mean the difference between winning and losing your next case. This CBA–CLE program, Sept. 20, 9 a.m.–12:15 p.m., will teach you all you need to know about “electronic stored information” (ESI) to litigate your case. Register online: E-Discovery and Evidence Best Practices

*** Host a DPS Student Intern
The Denver Public Schools Executive Internship Program is looking for business sponsors to provide and supervise an internship experience for top-notch students from DPS high schools (and some out-of-district) seeking practical hands-on experience in a professional environment. Internship sponsors are responsible for signing off on student time-sheets and assisting program coordinators in the evaluation process. Students generally complete a five- to 10-hour work-week. For more information, contact Tricia Downing tricia_downing@dpsk12.org or (720) 423-6648.

*** The Next Generation of Rainmakers
Law firm expectations have changed over the years and associates are now being asked to develop business prior to becoming a partner. Increasing pressures exist for every new partner to be more of a “rainmaker." Learn key strategies for building a book of business and ways marketing can help associates and partners develop business. This Legal Marketing Association program is Tuesday, Sept. 11, 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m., at The Oxford Hotel, 1600 17th St. Cost is $40 ($10 discount for LMA members). For more information and to register, visit www.rockymountainlma.com/events.

*** Be Prepared — to Save a Life
The Mile High Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators, in partnership with the Denver Health Paramedic Division of EMS Education, will present “Basic Lifesaving Techniques,” a core competency course that will cover CPR, the Heimlich Maneuver, portable defibrillators, and how to recognize and address symptoms of a stroke or heart attack. The program is Aug. 29, 8–11:30 a.m., at the Adams Mark Hotel Tower Court, Room C. RSVP required; contact Jerry McPeake, (303) 861-7472. Cost for ALA members is $35; others $45.
