*** Law Day Breakfast with Karen Mathis
The DBA Young Lawyers Division presents this year’s Law Day program, “Liberty Under Law: Empowering Youth, Assuring Democracy,” Monday, April 30, 8 a.m., at the Pepsi Center, 1000 Chopper Cir. in Denver. ABA President Karen Mathis is the speaker. Cost is $30 and includes breakfast. Call-in is available for $10. One general CLE credit requested. Clients often wish to make gifts to minors, such as funds to pay for college or annual exclusion gifts to reduce their estates for tax purposes. Faculty for this CBA–CLE program on April 25, 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m., provides useful information to consider when making recommendations to clients about the alternatives for giving gifts to minors. Summer is just around the corner, marking the return of the most family-friendly softball league west of the Pecos. Games are co-ed, often with preteen and teenage children playing.
