Larimer County  CASA has scheduled an educational event for August 7, 2014, in the Justice Center Jury Room to educate lawyers, judges and community members on the role of CASA volunteers in D&N juvenile cases, and the role of Harmony House for supervised visitation and exchanges for a larger population.  The event is free and has been approved for one ethics CLE credit.

Law Day 2014 - August 22, 2014, 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.  Larimer County Courthouse Offices, 200 W. Oak Street.  "Why Every Vote Matters" presented by Hon. William W. Wood, III, Colorado Supreme Court Justice.  Contact Art Spicciati at 970-817-3518 for information.

The Fall Term Day will be held on September 5, 2014, Larimer County Justice Center Jury Room.  Coffee, donuts, bagels, etc., 8:00.  Business meeting starts at 9:00 a.m.  Golf is at Collindale Golf Course.  Dinner at Fort Collins Museum of Discovery - Rooftop Deck.  Watch for upcoming Messenger and reservation forms.

The Bench/Bar Happy Hour will take place the second Thursday of every month for the rest of 2014.  We are trying to make this a diverse event with judges, attorneys, judicial staff, and paralegals/legal assistants, etc., from all practice areas (even retired).  Feel free to invite spouses if you would like to do so.  Save the happy hour dates for the rest of the year and watch for the emails for the location each month.  Future dates August 14, September 11, October 9, November 13, December 11, 2014.  For more information, contact Rikke Liska at 266-9669, or email her at rikke@proctercallahanlaw.com.

LCBA Board meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at The Cafe Bluebird.  If you have any items to add to the agenda, contact President Jennifer Stewar at 970-498-7450.

The Larimer County Young Lawyers meets the third Wednesday of every month.  If you are interested in their group, contact Art Spicciati at (970) 817-3518 or email him at spicciati.law@gmail.com.

There is an informal group of "trust and estate" lawyers called the LCBA Trust & Estate Bar.  It meets five times a year, from September through May, usually on the fourth Wednesday of the month.  The meetings are from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at First National Bank downtown.  If you are interested you can email Pete Bullard at pete@estate-planning-help.com.

The Colorado Criminal Defense Bar (Larimer Chapter) meets monthly.  Jeffrey Schwartz is the contact person at jeff@jskwlaw.com.  He sends out notices by email so if you would like to be included, contact him.
