CoLA has joined a national network of volunteer lawyers for the arts organizations who are initiating mediation services for the arts community. AMS offers mediation to artists, non-profit arts organizations and arts businesses that need assistance in resolving or preventing disputes. AMS provides training and professional development for artists and art administrators as well as attorneys and professional mediators, who comprise the AMS panel of volunteer mediators and, whenever possible, AMS will assign a co-mediator from the same artistic discipline as the parties to the mediation. Fee: Sliding scale per mediation session: Individual household - $60,000 maximum income; Organization or business - $150,000 maximum budget.

The Volunteer Court Mediation Project provides mediation services to parties in civil lawsuits in Denver’s Small Claims Courts and County Courts. (Disputes less than $15,000). Trained and experienced volunteer mediators provide services at no cost, at the courthouse, on the day of a scheduled trial or hearing in the case.

The Neighborhood Justice Center, a division of the Fourth Judicial District Attorney's Office, was created to help citizens peacefully resolve disputes through mediation. It is designed to help reduce the caseloads of the courts and to provide immediate help for those who experience personal as well as interpersonal conflict. To achieve these ends, the Center provides mediators who strive to assist people in finding meaningful solutions to conflict. Referrals by law enforcement agencies, community agencies, municipal and county courts and client self-referral. Disputes of minor civil or criminal misdemeanors are handled. Fee: None.

Mediation services are available in Indian child welfare cases through the: PERMANENCY PLANNING FOR INDIAN CHILDREN PROJECT. The PROJECT goals are: To ensure more timely resolution of Indian child welfare cases; to create a more effective partnership between the state court judiciary, state/county social services agencies and the Indian community organizations; The Indian Child Welfare Act, (25 U.S.C. Sections 1901 et. Seq.), and Colorado ICWA law (HB02 – 1064) is adhered to in all mediation cases, if applicable.
