Represent The First District of CBA

The Denver Bar Association seeks nominees to serve as Colorado Bar Association Vice President representing the First District (Denver). This is a one-year term beginning July 2014, serving on the CBA Executive Council and Board of Governors. Nominations are due by Monday, Sept. 16. Barristers After Hours and Lawyer Artists

The DBA YLD Barristers After Hours is partnering with The Docket’s Denver Lawyers’ Arts and Literature Contest to bring you a picture-perfect Barristers After Hours on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell. DBA YLD Coffee Talk

Transact with Confidence: Minimizing the Risk of Environmental Liabilities—Thursday, Sept. 26

DU Law Stars Shine

University of Denver Sturm College of Law alumni will be honored at the DU Law Stars Dinner at the Sheraton Downtown Denver on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. Honorees include Michael S. Burg, JD’75 and Peter W. Burg, JD’80, Outstanding Alumni Award; Hon. John P. Leopold, JD’74, Alumni Professionalism Award; Professor J. Robert Brown, Jr., Robert B. Yegge Excellence in Teaching Award, and Lucia C. Padilla, JD’03, Bruce B. Johnson Outstanding Recent Alumni Award. Proceeds from the event are directed to the Student Law Office and the Judicial Fellowship Program. Cwba Raises The Bar With Dinner

The CWBA Foundation’s Annual "Raising the Bar" Dinner will be held at the Brown Palace Hotel on Thursday, Sept. 12, at 5:30 p.m. This year, The CWBA celebrates "Lawyers Who Have Raised the Bar in Protecting and Advocating for Children." Six amazing women will be honored.

DBA YLD Hosts Law Suit Days

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 3 and 4, the DBA Young Lawyers Division will accept donations of gently used professional clothing, shoes, and accessories on the steps of the Denver City and County Building. Clothing should be clean and on hangers. The DBA YLD will not be able to pick up donations and cannot accept donations on other dates. If the weather is bad, the donation site will be moved inside the city and county building. For more information please contact Heather Clark at hclark@cobar.org.
