The Denver City Club gave the 2009 James Grafton Rogers award to the Denver Warm Welcome Court Child Care Center for exceptional contributions to the Denver community.

The Center was born at the Denver Bar Association as the brainchild of the DBA President, David Furgason and Joe Dischinger, chair of the Judicial Administration Committee. Funded through private and public sources, the Center opened in 1999. Since then, it has provided free, drop-in child care for members of the public who have business with courts in Denver. The Center is administered by the Court Child Care Center, a Colorado non-profit corporation. DBA members, a former Denver magistrate, a representative of the Mayor’s Office of Education and Children and private citizens make up its board.
