Dustin’ Off The Clubs

The sun glistened and the rain surrendered at the 2009 Seniors Golf Tournament, July 22, at The Homestead Golf Course in Lakewood. Twenty-one people participated in the tournament and enjoyed a lunch in the club house before hitting the course. Thank you to all the participants for making this year’s tournament a fun and memorable event.

Professionalism Vignettes Win ABA Award

The CBA/DBA Professionalism Coordinating Council Teaching Vignettes project was recognized with one of three American Bar Association E. Smythe Gambrell Professionalism Awards, July 31 in Chicago, for outstanding contributions to promoting professionalism in the legal community. Presented with two certificates and a $3,500 check, Mark Fogg, past CBA and DBA Professionalism Committee chair and DBA president, John Gleason of the Office of Regulatory Counsel and DBA President John Baker, happily accepted the award on the bar association’s behalf.

Wheels of Justice Cuts Big Check to Children’s Hospital

The Wheels of Justice cycling team presented a check for $192,432.46 to The Children’s Hosptial after the 2009 Courage Classic bike race, July 25–27. The 157-mile ride treks through the Colorado Rockies for three days to support the hospital’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. WoJ is a group of members from the Colorado business and legal community and is sponsored by the Colorado, Denver and Boulder County Bar Associations, as well as Denver’s leading law firms and businesses. In the past three years the Wheels of Justice team has presented The Children’s Hospital with checks totaling over $563,000.
