Congratulations to the 2008 Wheels of Justice cycling team and sponsors! More than 200 riders participated in the Courage Classic three-day ride through the Rocky Mountains July 26 to 28. The team of 201 cyclists has raised more than $240,000 for the Children’s Hospital Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, surpassing goals for both riders and donations. Three outstanding attorneys and one judge were recognized as exemplary DBA members at the 2008 Annual Awards Party on June 10 at the Colorado History Museum. Recipients included: Stanton Rosenbaum, Award of Merit; Hon. Russell Carparelli, Judicial Excellence Award; Aaron Bradford, Young Lawyer of the Year Award; and Karen Wheeler, Volunteer Lawyer of the Year Award.

Governor Bill Ritter addressed the Colorado Bar Assocation Leadership Training graduates on June 13 at the Governor’s Mansion. He urged them to continue making their leadership contributions to the legal profession and the community. The event celebrated the graduation of COBALT students from the CBA’s six-month leadership course. Family and friends joined the class members for this occasion.
