Young Professionals for an Independent Judiciary

Young Lawyers: here’s a chance to make a difference. Learn about the Vote No 40 campaign to protect Colorado and our courts. On Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Palomino, 1515 Arapahoe St., you’ll hear about the real consequences for Colorado if Amendment 40 passes and learn how you can get involved. You know limiting judges is a bad idea — learn how to tell your friends, family and neighbors about why they should "Vote No 40." The DBA YLD will provide light appetizers and two free drink tickets. Palomino will have happy hour rates throughout the event, which is $2.99 for beer, wine, margaritas, as well as half-priced appetizers. Everyone is welcome. Law Suit Days

The annual "Law Suit Days" are Oct. 12–13. Members of the Young Lawyers Division will be taking donations on the steps of the City and County Building, 1437 Bannock St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Donate gently used professional clothing to help low-income and unemployed community members dress-to-impress for job interviews. Contact David Uhlig at

Volunteer Lawyers Sought for Inventory Counsel Matters

The Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel seeks volunteer lawyers from each judicial district to be considered for potential appointment as inventory counsel by the chief judge of your district when a lawyer dies; disappears; is disbarred or transferred to disability inactive status; and where no partner, executor or other responsible party capable of closing the lawyer’s law practice is known to exist. The duties of volunteer inventory counsel include inventorying the files of the attorney in question and returning recent files.
