Game On!

The DBA Lawyer’s Softball League — the most relaxed league west of the Pecos — is back. Games begin June 3 and run through Aug. 5. No experience is necessary. The league is coed, there are no umpires, and balls and strikes are not called. The idea is to get out of the office and enjoy the beautiful Colorado summers. Games are Saturdays at 11 a.m. at Cramner (Sundial) Park, in central Denver. Fees are based on the number of teams in the league. If you are interested, contact Jack Tanner by May 15 at jtanner@fwlaw.com or (303) 894-4495.

 Legal Night at Mi Casa

Legal Night at Mi Casa Resource Center for Women, Inc. in the Baker neighborhood is May 16 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. The program provides free legal and referral information to residents in the community regarding issues of immigration, employment, housing and family law. It’s held on the third Tuesday of every month. For information about volunteering to provide legal information, or Spanish-English translation services, contact Tim Macdonald at Timothy_Macdonald@aporter.com or (303) 863-2334.

Barristers After Hours will be on Thursday, May 18 at the Wynkoop Brewing Company, 1634 18th St., from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy free appetizers and two free drinks. No reservations needed — just show up!

Community Action Network KIND

Once again, the Denver legal community "pulled" through and made the Kids In Need of Dentistry (KIND) Drive a huge success! KIND is a nonprofit children’s charity dedicated to providing low and no-cost dental care to children from low-income families throughout Colorado. Thanks to attorney Leslie Toepfer, chair of the event, and the DBA Community Action Network Committee, who rallied the Denver legal community to donate thousands of children’s toothbrushes, dental floss and toothpaste. In addition, nearly $1,000 was donated, which will help KIND provide critical dental care for children in our community.

Thanks to all the individuals, firms and organizations who made this possible:
