Be Like Garth — Donate Winter Coats for Vets

Come to the DBA offices, Sept. 12–23, to donate men’s winter coats for the 15th Annual Homeless Veterans’ Standdown in November. The coats must be clean and in good condition; sizes L or XL are needed. For your convenience, there will be a "Donation Drive-by" on Wednesday, Sept. 14, and Wednesday, Sept. 21, 7:30–9 a.m. Just drive in front of the DBA, 1900 Grant St., drop off your coat donations and get a Glazed & Confused donut from Chuck Turner! Otherwise, all coats may be dropped off any time at the DBA offices on the 9th floor.

Please help with this important cause — get your office involved! For more information, contact Carolyn Ferber at (303) 824-5323 or cferber@cobar.org

Clean Out Your Closet for a Good Cause!

“Law Suit Days” are Oct. 12–13. Members of the Young Lawyers Division will be taking
donations on the steps of the City and County Building, 1437 Bannock St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., each day. Donate gently-used professional clothing to help low-income and unemployed community members dress-to-impress for job interviews.

Questions? Contact David Uhlig at uhligd@ballardspahr.com.

Like Kids?

If you are able to volunteer one morning per month, the DBA Court Tours program could use your help! Volunteers are needed to conduct Denver City/County Court Tours for elementary and middle school kids once or twice per month in the mornings. No courthouse experience required — a court tour training, complete with informational notebook, will be Sept. 23. This is a great opportunity for newly-sworn attorneys! For more information and to attend the training, contact Carolyn Ferber at (303) 824-5323 or cferber@cobar.org.

 Kick Back … Relax

Barristers After Hours is Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Rock Bottom Brewery, 16th & Curtis, 5–7:30 p.m. Stop by to meet some other young lawyers; enjoy two free drinks and appetizers on the house. No need to RSVP. If you’d like more info, contact YLD Chair Michael Gates at mgates@kennedy-christopher.com.
