Seniors Roast

DBA–CLE for February

Personal Injury Settlement Planning is Feb. 4. Learn important topics such as how to plan for the long-term care of a catastrophically injured person; when and why a probate court needs to approve a settlement agreement separate and apart from a trial court’s actions; and whether public benefits have to be repaid despite a settlement. Tuition is $169 for Litigation or Trust & Estate Section members; $179 for DBA members; $209 for non-members. Seven general CLE credits.

Preventing Legal Malpractice is Feb. 17. This annual event gives you the hands-on tools and techniques you need to prevent malpractice and improve your law practice. Attendance also qualifies attendees for a premium credit upon renewal of their CBA-sponsored professional liability insurance. Tuition is $109 DBA members; $149 for non-members. Four ethics credits.

Elder Abuse is Feb. 18. Abuse and exploitation of the elderly is reaching epidemic proportions in America and, unfortunately, prosecution of such crimes is very limited. It is critically important for all of us to be aware of this problem, and learn how to address it properly. Tuition is $169 for Elder Law or Trust & Estate Section members; $179 for DBA members; $209 for non-members. Seven general CLE credits, including 1.5 ethics.

The Denver High School Mock Trial Regional Tournament is Feb. 25–26 at the Denver City and County Court House. Magistrates or judges are needed to preside, and attorneys are needed to score this event. Contact Carolyn Ferber at cferber@cobar.org.
