It’s Your ‘Day in Court’ on June 22

Get some great courtroom experience through the DBA Young Lawyers Division’s annual “day in court,” on June 22 from 1:30-5 p.m. This demonstrative program will include several “mock” witness examinations by experienced trial attorneys with critiques by a panel of judges. This program is designed to educate young attorneys on the do’s and don’ts of witness examination. Judge James R. Carrigan, and Denver District Court Judges Morris B. Hoffman and Paul A. Markson will give tips. The program takes place in courtroom C202 at the U.S. District Courthouse at 1929 Stout St. Four cles are anticipated. Celebration of Excellence

Celebration of Excellence Cheer on the graduates at the Celebration of Excellence, sponsored in part by the Denver Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, on June 14 from 6-8 p.m. at the Tivoli on the Auraria Campus. Young adults who have been a part of the foster care system will participate in a ceremony celebrating their graduation or GED.

Leaders Needed
Interested in becoming more involved with the DBA Young Lawyers Division, but think you are too busy? The DBA YLD has a solution! The young lawyers are accepting applications for committee chairs for 2001/2002 (the term begins July 1). Co-chair a committee organizing social hours, helping foster children in Denver or organizing CLE programs for YLD’ers. Applicants can limit their commitment to the committee they choose, while gaining the benefits of meeting other young lawyers, networking with DBA members, and creating a positive image of lawyers in the community.
