Committees & Departments ![]() Roll Out the Barrels March 17-21 It’s almost time for the fourth annual Roll Out the Barrels Food Drive for the Food Bank of the Rockies. Please let Karen Bries know if you’d like to participate this year at kbries@cobar.org. We’ll also continue the donation competition by firm size (1-20, 21-60, 61-100, 101-150 and 151+ employees.)
Christmas in January
On Jan. 18, more than 200 foster children picked out new toys and feasted on pizza and candy. Often, this is a time when brothers and sisters who have been separated and placed in different foster homes see each other—one little girl found her sister; she hadn’t known where her sister had been placed. Most donations came from toy drives at law firms. Thanks to everyone who participated. Volunteers (Young Lawyers): Lane Cutler, Kimberly Searfoorce, Amy Cook-Olson, Lisa McDaniel, Dawn McKnight, Lisa Todd, Joanna Boedefeld, Karen Holmes, Tamatha Blase, Diane Kreuk, Douglas Stevens, Heather Weckbaugh and Nora Nye.

Lawyers Have Heart 5K Run Running. Walking. Anything to get the heart pumping and feel good outside. The first Denver Bar Association Lawyers Have Heart 5K Run is on Saturday, June 7, and your support is critical. Lead a team from your firm for this 5K run through Denver’s City Park. Walkers and children are invited to participate in a 1K fun walk after the race. Funds raised through the Lawyers Have Heart 5K Run help support the lifesaving research and educational programs of the American Heart Association. Last year’s AHA’s Heart Walk attracted more than 3,000 participants and raised nearly $300,000. The DBA and the Community Action Network are looking toward a more successful event this year with the Lawyers Have Heart 5K Run. With heart disease as the number one killer of both men and women, funds raised by the legal community will support medical research and community education in the fight against heart disease and stroke. The goal for the event is to raise $350,000. Become a supporter and run or walk to fight against heart disease and stroke. Contact Arlaina McDaniel for information on getting a team started at (303) 369-5433 or arlaina.mcdaniel@heart.org
